FEFCO launches Best Practice Handbook for Improved Energy Efficiency

FEFCO (the European Federation of Corrugated Cardboard Manufacturers) is delighted to announce the launch of its Best Practice Handbook for Improved Energy Efficiency. This work is the result of a collaboration between the FEFCO Sustainable Manufacturing Workgroup and RISE Bioeconomy and Health.

This Handbook provides practical guidance, presenting a collection of proven strategies and techniques to enhance energy efficiency in the corrugated cardboard production and conversion processes, aligning with FEFCO’s Climate Neutrality Roadmap 2050.

It encompasses various aspects of production, conversion, and energy management, with a focus on short-term, typically 1 to 3-year, implementable solutions. By adopting the recommended actions outlined in the handbook, corrugated cardboard manufacturers and converters can achieve significant energy savings, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance operational energy efficiency.

This publication marks a pivotal moment for the corrugated cardboard industry’s commitment to the FEFCO Climate Neutrality Roadmap. FEFCO’s aim is to support companies in enhancing their energy efficiency strategies, thereby contributing to a sustainable future.

“Prioritising energy efficiency is paramount for strengthening both economic viability and environmental sustainability in the corrugated cardboard manufacturing industry” said Eleni Despotou, FEFCO Director General.
