Recyclable paper-based transport securing tape: tesa launches new tesa® 64295

tesa, the international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, is expanding its portfolio with the new tesa® 64295.

The transport securing tape, commonly known as strapping tape, tesa® 64295 is the answer to the increasing demand for more sustainable transport securing solutions and has been specially developed for the secure fastening of loose or moving parts such as shelves, racks, containers, and inserts during the transportation of household appliances. tesa® 64295 offers reliable adhesion and can be disposed of together with the packaging material after use without impairing the recycling process (recyclability tested according to PTS-RH 021:2012).

The adhesive tape consists of more than 75%1 bio-based materials including a paper backing from FSC®-certified forests and other controlled sources (FSC® C148769) and is coated with a solvent-free natural rubber adhesive. In addition, the core of the adhesive tape is made of FSC®- certified recycled paper.

Sustainability and performance combined

“Transport Securing tapes ensure that goods arrive safely. They reduce the risk of financial loss and customer dissatisfaction due to damaged household appliances during transport,” explains Frank Domann, Head of Home Appliances at tesa. “tesa® 64295 helps reduce the use of virgin plastic. We offer our customers a more sustainable alternative to conventional plastic tapes without compromising performance and help them contribute to their sustainability goals.”

tesa focues on more sustainable product innovations

The introduction of tesa® 64295 is a further step in tesa‘s comprehensive sustainability strategy. The company has set itself the goal of increasing the share of recycled and bio-based materials in all of its products to 70 percent by 2030 and reducing the use of non-recycled, fossil-based plastics by half.

With the new tesa® 64295, tesa offers a more sustainable and efficient solution for securing household appliances and office equipment during transportation that meets the growing demand for more sustainable packaging solutions. After use, it can be disposed of together with the packaging material without affecting the recycling process (recyclability tested according to PTS-RH 021:2012).
