Building on the three years history of supplying compostable tableware at the temple, this association marks a significant milestone on CHUK’s role to replace traditional disposable tableware with eco-friendly alternatives. The collaboration is an extension of the Shrine Board’s overarching goal to reduce plastic waste and promote environmental consciousness among pilgrims and local communities in the temple town of Katra. CHUK is also focused on making a positive impact in Katra, which aligns with Pakka’s broader mission to contribute to a cleaner earth.

Jagdeep Hira, India Business Head, Pakka said, “We are honored to further strengthen our association with Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. By providing compostable tableware to millions of pilgrims annually, we are eliminating tons of plastic waste and nurturing an environment friendly mindset among the devotees. By combining CHUK’s innovative compostable solutions with the Shrine Board’s commitment to environmental stewardship, we are creating a blueprint for how industry and religious institutions can contribute to a cleaner earth.”

CHUK’s compostable products, made from locally sourced sugarcane waste (bagasse), offer a sustainable solution to single-use plastics. The brand is also the official compostable tableware supplier at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, which started during its inauguration in January 2024.
