Enmas Andritz has successfully delivered turnkey Chemical recovery system projects to many leading Indian Mills and the company has been in the forefront serving the wide spectrum of clientele of paper industry in the last three decades.
Paper Desk : What is the history of Enmas-Andritz?
N.S.Pandian : This is an Engineering & Project management company. ENMAS has JOINT VENTURE with originally AHLSTROM, FINLAND in 1990/1996 and later became ENMAS ANDRITZ during 2003/04. This company will handle total Recovery Island, Power Boilers for catering PULP & PAPER Industry since 1996.
PD : What are your company’s principles?
NSP : ENMAS respects Technology and brought state of the Art Design to India since 1990, a niche market product with Finish Technology and quality. ENMAS has a policy to serve the customer with utmost care on Top priority to maintain always long term relationship. The company is traditional, customer oriented outfit. Employees are all geared up to the same.
PD : What is the feature of your manufacturing?
NSP : ENMAS has GB POWER company, with manufacturing facility accredited to (ASME “S” & “U” Stamping/IBR), RLA/Condition monitoringnd various dismantling of Boilers after decommissioning and to re-erect/upgrade and commissioning works are being done.

PD : How does your Chemical Recovery Boilers support paper mills?
NSP : Chemical Recovery Boiler is a cash cow for Paper Mill customers since this will give pay back for any value of investment within 3 years by way of Steam, Power and Chemical. This is a niche product & lifeline of any paper mill to sustain economically and to environmentally protect all emission norms.
PD : What is Free Flow falling film Evaporator and what is the flow rate & optimum value of your Evaporator?
NSP : Evaporator is the starting point of Recovery Boiler, based on pulping process, KRAFT (or) SODA, a very Energy efficient design from 40TPH – 600 TPH Capacity is in the Product range. New Foul condensate Recovery System, Stripper column, sweetening process NCG/SOG etc are additional features. A new Evaporator or Retrofit can be done for Pulp & Paper.
PD : Could you assure your Lime Reburning Kilns are energy efficient?
NSP : Lime Reburning kilns is essential in all the Paper Mills to handle the Lime mud generated in the Mills to properly manage the environment. Even purged mud also to be properly treated to maintain without any Environment issues.
PD : How important is a Non condensable gases (NGC) handling and burning system for a Paper Mills?
NSP : NCG, HVLC, Collection is essential in Paper Industry to avoid foul smell and also to effectively burn as supplementing fuel in Recovery Boiler/Lime Kiln.

PD : How the export market for Indian equipment is manufactures like ENMAS?
NSP : As explained, all Export/Overseas contracts are handled by GB Power. Based up on the present Indian Foreign Trade Policy and stable political scenario and Make In India Policy, there is good scope for Export market for next 3-4 years from India to Middle East, EURORE, USA.
PD : May we know about your Environment Management Policies?
NSP : ENMAS is very much concerned about the Environment Management Policy and chosen a Chemical Recovery Boiler as POLLUTION EQUIPMENT in company profile.
Later went on for JOINT VENTURE with a Japanese company for special VERTICAL INCINERATOR for solid municipal, medical and other wastes to convert to Energy and to make pollution free country.
PD : How important are the QC for a mechanical/equipment manufacturing company and how do you assure the quality consistency of your products?
NSP : ENMAS always gives highest priority for consistent quality of product, by sourcing the Raw materials stage onwards such as Tubes, Pipes, Castings, Forgings and special Alloy steal from reputed make Mills with Third party Inspection by LLOYDS.
Standard QCP is given for all stages and are inspected up to the last statutory stages like Hydro, heat treatment as per ASME “S” & ‘U”/IBR standard. Final paintings & packing will be done to see that the customer receives the Best quality. The total product manufacturing life cycle will be inspected by LLOYDS.
PD : Do you have any other group companies?
NSP : GB Power is our another outfit which is an Engineering, Project management company with manufacturing shop, RLA/Condition Monitoring, site services like Dismantling, Erection and Commissioning. All overseas projects, export to EGYPT, USA, CANADA, MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA, AUSTRALIA are done through GB Power. A new product (SOOT BLOWER for Boilers) is developed now in GB POWER.

PD : Any business expansions or technical partnership initiated?
NSP : A strategic partnering with AHLSTROM, USA & GERMANY is done for Process, power and carbon black Industry equipments. Now, 2 No of boilers with ASME order secured to export to CANADA.
PD : What kind of challenges you experience in the market?
NSP : In any Business, always challenges like Government policy change, sudden input cost increase, dedicated sub vendors – production capacity issue and tough competition are inevitable and to be handled systematically. The robust internal systems like ISO/ERP/MIS takes care of any deviations and to guide for suitable course correction.
PD : Being a part of Paper Industry, how do you see paper sustainability in India?
NSP : Even though various online/Paper less office concept are, now the recycled papers, Board mill to make various use & throw plate, cup, packing materials in place of plastics, papers are used. Hence, the Indian Market is sustained with Paper mills products.
PD : What about your CSR?
NSP : ENMAS is in niche, Environmental pollution Equipment Design & Supply to keep our country clean, and save Flora & Fauna on continuous basis to the whole Globe, as part of CSR to reduce the Global warming by using the Pollutant as fuel.
PD : Does Enmas Andritz has any special achievements in paper industry?
NSP : Recently the best performer award has been received by ENMAS in PAPER Exhibition during December 2023 at New Delhi. Because of various improvements/Technical suggestions are given to Industry/Customers on regular basis, ENMAS is having an unique place in all customers mind for best service, spares management and supply, Erection & Commissioning of Projects in time with proven technology to achieve the results. Recently a tough & challenging retrofit project done at TNPL – 1300 TDS/D to 1500 TDS/D retrofit/upgradation within 38 days and was well appreciated by the Industry.
PD : How the Paper Industry consider Enmas as sourcing partner for Projects and Services?
NSP : Enmas is part of Indian Pulp & Paper Industry since 1990. It has done more than 100 Retrofits, upgradation and 23 small and medium size new Recovery Boilers.
