MEPCO subsidiary signs contract to set up 6th tissue production line

Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO)’s subsidiary,  Juthur Paper Manufacturing Co. signed, on Nov. 10, a contract with Andritz AG to manufacture, supply and install a sixth tissue production line (TM6).

The contract value does not exceed 25% of its total revenue, as per the last audited annual financial statement, the company said in a filing to Tadawul.

The 24-month contract includes purchasing a complete production line for tissue paper with an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons and a speed of 2,100 meters per minute. Andritz AG will be responsible for the manufacturing, supply, and installation.

The relevant financial impact of the contract will be reflected starting Q4 2026.

According to data available with Argaam, MEPCO’s board gave the go-ahead, in August, for the doubling production capacity of Juthor Paper Manufacturing Co. by adding the tissue paper production line 6 project (TM6) at a total value of SAR 345 million.

MEPCO reported total revenues of SAR 866.75 million for 2023. The 25% of the annual revenue amounts to nearly SAR 216.7 million.
